Finding cures. Saving children. That’s the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and 1230 The Buzz will host our annual radiothon on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 6am-7pm to support that mission.

Last year Radio One, with the support of our listeners across the country, raised over one million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That support will help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continue to cure children with catastrophic childhood diseases. In 1962, the sruvival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (All), the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, the survival rate for this once deadly disease is 94 percent, thanks to research and treatment protocols developed at St. Jude and made possible because of your donations.

Did you know that St. Jude was the first institution to develop a cure for sickle cell disease with a bone marrow transplant and has one of the largest pediatric sickle cell programs in the country.

Join us on April 4 on 1230 The Buzz and help us support St. Jude Children’s Research Hosptial.
