At the time that Donald Sterling’s alleged comments were made public, he was in line for a lifetime achievement award from the Los Angeles NAACP – his second from the chapter. The organization has now rescinded both awards, but many are questioning why the organization made a point to honor someone with such a troubled history of race relations in the first place.

Lorraine C. Miller, the Interim President and CEO of the NAACP, was a guest on “NewsOne Now” with Roland Martin Monday. Martin asked her directly why the NAACP would want to honor Sterling. Watch what she had to say.
