This morning, there’s one hilarious report making way for the day’s news and it involves one of those famous faces you might think has it all together. Well, Cincinnati, guess again.
Ann Curry, of the “Today” show, got caught making a big mistake live onstage during a recent commencement ceremony at Wheaton College in Massachusetts over the weekend. In her speech, Curry began to name drop some of the famous alumni the graduating students would be joining. First up, Billy Graham. But wait a minute, didn’t the world renowned evangelist actually attend Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL? Oops, Ann! Betcha didn’t see that one coming?
The families of the students in the graduating class didn’t appear to be fazed much by her mistake. There wasn’t a revolt or an outcry from what we hear. Instead the students politely applauded her for the speech and just went along with the flow. Such good manners, huh? Well, that good deed hit the news headlines today as Curry (and her team) caught the mistake and sent out a letter of apology to Wheaton College’s website. Did she make sure her letter was posted on the right Wheaton College’s site this time around though?

You can even view a clip of the ceremony below.
Curry, who graduated from the University of Oregon back in 1978, also received an honorary doctor of humane letters from Wheaton – the primary reason she was selected to participate in the ceremony.
Ladies and gentlemen, this story is quite hilarious this morning because Curry always appears to be on top of things in the world of television, news and broadcasting. What do you think of this one though? Was it an honest mistake or are you (and I) both questioning her dedication to conducting thorough research before she makes such an address? Do you think she even wrote the speech herself?
